Will bank debt show at border control?
My partner and myself (We are British) worked in the US for a year in 2006. We were issued with US social security numbers, but were only on 12 months Q1 visas.
My partner believes she may have an unpaid medical bill of around $180 and went overdrawn in her account a few days after we left by a couple of dollars.
We are planning a vacation to Orlando next June, this will be almost 3 years after we left the country. When we pass through the dreaded US border control will these non-payments show up on their system?
I'm just not sure if immigration have access to these kinds of records or not.

That's good news! Out of curiosity - how do you know? I'm not putting you on the spot, just want to calm our fears!

If your partner really wants to be ease about it, then she can always pay up and put the debts she owes behind her.

It's not like an unpaid speeding ticket which could result in a warrant for your arrest, so you should be fine.

Not really. The most that could have happened is that the bill got sent to a debt collector and, possibly, a collection added to a credit record. Unless they go to the same medical facility, I doubt there would be an issue.
Having said that, I agree with Ray's sentiment.

It's $180 FFS!! you probably spent more than that on your suitcase, sleep easy at night and pay the debt!
