You can get Heinz baked beans at World Market at North/clybourn, and any of the other World Markets. Dominicks is the Safeway brand in Illinois, I have seen small international selections popping up in a few of the Chicago land stores.

If I was out of work the last thing on my mind would be spending $3,000 a month on Cobra for the entire family.

Uk is wonderful to live in anyday. Last time i lived there on 40k a month i had disposable income of 200 a mnth due to a long list of bills i had to pay. Homes in england cost too much to KEEP, never mind to BUY.

My flat seems to have gone up 20% in the last few years, not bad at all.
I did read an interesting piece in the Guardian about how every NHS bed would come with a notepad and pen to note complaints.

Getting on an evening commuter train and having so many free newspapers all around me, is something to reminisce about

Dominicks is on the way out. Jewel bought a few but the rest are closing. I forgot about World Market though.

Not really surprised, their reputation on price (and expiration dates!) was always appalling.

We only had a Dominicks where I lived, it would have been within walking distance if they'd had sidewalks

Re: Why move to the US?
I'm one of those people who fell in love with an American, in all honesty I don't see myself moving back to Northern Ireland, in just 2 and a half short years NI seems to have changed for the worse and I don't see my future being there anymore. I like Texas too I like the people, while the government at federal level is quite dysfunctional compared to NI it's a cake walk, yes health care is a mess but but is the NHS any better? I'm not one of these people who always wanted to live in the US or any other country than Northern Ireland, but life through me a curve ball and I am not looking back. I have started to feel that I should have lived here all along as my views on a lot of stuff are more American than British and in all honesty I'm a bit of a red neck.
