I have 10 - read it - 10 days off over xmas. On duty new years eve which is always a laugh.

staying here...but got x-mas, boxing and new years off, but i've taken the days off from x-mas till the 2nd off, might as well

Staying put too. Got the 23rd to the 2nd off but didn't dare book any flights with my N-400 interview on 12/6. Now watch it take six months...

I can't see us going back to the UK for Christmas for a long time...if ever....not that I don't miss my mother in laws cooking...but the fights over who's house we would stay at would make the visit hell on earth... 
Its easier to tell them they would have a better time over here...their Great Grandson helps with that one its the only way they'll get to see him for a while... our house is too small to stay in ... but we have a nice hotel up the road run by a nice Indian couple...I tell them to stay there so they'll have a break from our mad house..

I'm leaving December 19th, going into Brum. My mum is excited. so's the wife, shes got 10 days of peace and quiet! The only caveat to the trip was that I'd be back in time for New Years Eve, which is fine by me. Only have to use 4 days out of my holiday entitlement too, as I get the Christmas week off with my lovely new-ish job

Me and my husband (wonderful english ) will be staying here as he has a whole week off and probably I will be watching him collapsed in a heap hearing him moaning about only getting 2 weeks off a year and how tired he is. He even moans about not having the 2nd of Jan off as he used to in Scotland (not that he had in England)

My antidote to homesickness at Christmas, We are going to Mexico.
Looked into Smokey Mountains but we decided to save that for a warmer time of year. Hope to go back to UK next year.
