Then chastize the other posters who talk about tipping cocktail waitresses, waitresses, etc. Why single out one poster.

So how much do these dealers get paid then? Are they like waiters where they get next to nothing and rely on tips, or do they get a hefty wad to begin with? I'm off to Vegas tomorrow, so I'll see whats occuring. But I'd like to know how much they make - if like Manc says they are on a good crack anyway I won't be chucking my money at them, thats for sure!

they're looking after their own.
I am sure it's different when the casino isn't tribally run.

Cocktail waitresses who work the high limit rooms in Vegas strip casinos can make well into 6 figures.

The Sahara use to have $1 dollar blackjack, but I think they phased it out. Most strip hotels are $10 dollar minimums for table games, but even these are hard to come by at the weekends when the're busy. Every now and again you'll find a low limit table in a surprising place, but those casinos that cost over a billion dollars to build, have to get their money from someone.

Thanks for the tips folks. I'm not much of a gambler at all, but we're going with a group of friends so it should be a laugh - I'll be keeping an eye out for the coctail girls and sticking the odd quarter in the machines as they go by to get a cheap drink or two! Then probably go and chuck it all up on that New York New York rollercoaster
Sounds like prices have gone up a bit, went to Vegas before a few years ago seem to remember some places on the strip were not too bad for cheapskates like me! I just like partying on and seeing the obscene amounts of money some people chuck around! I quite like downtown Vegas, reminds me of that James Bond film with "Willard White and the White House" and all that, can't remember which one it is, diamonds are forever maybe? I'll get my flares on and a stickon afro wig to get that true 70's feeling :scared:

Just remember to always play max bet on a slot machine.
We like downtown also. The Las Vegas Club has just comped us two free nights for my birthday in april. I hit a $1000 dollar royal flush last time we stayed there.

I earn $2.25 an hour, in Vegas its State min wage, so like $6 an hr approx
one thing though guys, vast majority of dealers pool/share their tips, so its not like leaving out a poor dealer makes much of a difference - in fact, a poor customer service dealer would pretty much have to beat up a customer to get fired in many casinos.
also, i didnt realise that slot techs also get tips, although they earn a higher wage than us......
