Welcome to Chicago - next April anyway. Bring clothes for extreme cold, extreme heat, and haggis if you want to eat it here. Only don't tell Customs!

Patrick,
i saw on your list that you lived in Blandford Forum, i went on holiday there about eight years ago with my family, we stayed in the vicarage there, a huge old house across from the church, i'll never forget it because it was probably the most boring holiday i've ever been on!!! No TV, no shops, i'm not knocking it and please dont take offense if you loved it there, but i think you would understand the dissappointment of going on holiday for a week there!!

So this got me to thinking...
(two thoughts in one day ! got to go for a lie down after this.)

Where did you start from (were born)/lived at/are now ?
I'll get the ball rolling:
Salford (Manchester)
Toxteth (Liverpool)
Barrow-In-Furness
Henley-On-Thames
Reading
Oxford
Greensboro, NC

Yeah I know, what a strange journal.

So where did the bus stop for you before you got here ?

Hi there - when were you out in Singapore? We were there 95-02. Wasn't that sorry to leave at the time, but a year on, there is a lot we still miss from there. Standard of living/Quality of life was pretty good....and I could commit murder for a Chicken Murtabak right now...

Hi

I was there in 94 for about 6 months. Hated it, I lived in the bloody conrad hotel. My wife and kids stayed in England, and I commuted. What a crap life that was.

What about Hong Kong? Was it equally crap? I lasted 13 months out there, living in the New Territories.

Hi

Hong Kong was a little better, as there was life there. (racing, betting, the Central district etc) However, it was still hard for me because my wife did not want to move for a job that was only going to last for a year. So I ended up doing the same thing. i.e. getting back to the UK very often.

What do you think I'm trying to tell you???

London's a big city and its residents are a diverse bunch, depending on where you live, hence the detail.
