Where the heck do you get keys cut?
 

Where on earth do you get keys cut in this country :confused:

I need a set of house keys cut, but I can't figure out where! Back in Manchester I could point you in the direction of about 5 key cutting places within a square mile.

Here, nothing, I have never seen a place that cuts keys. My husband doesn't even know. He said that in the past you got 'em cut at hardware stores. But now they don't exist.

Any clues? Is this just something specific to where I am - Woodbury, New York. Not exactly the middle of nowhere, it's the suburbs of NYC. Are other places lacking in places to cut keys?!

Hardware store, Home Depot, locksmith's shops. Surely there are hardware stores in the suburbs of NYC.

yeah tried Yelp, nothing for here under key cutting or locksmith.

I'll look if they do it at Home Despot.

Otherwise I'll just wait till I next go into the city, I know there are places in NYC, but it's not worth a trip JUST to get keys cut!

We like to go to an independent hardware store for key cutting. But our big Home Depot does it too. Also the Ace Hardware store chain, if you have one of those around.

yeah, I'd gladly got to a independent store, alas, nothing close to use! Gonna try Home Depot tomorrow. There is an Ace Hardware I think in Middletown, bout 20 miles away. Will have to check on that! Thanks :thumbup: And thanks FB for the Ace suggestion too. And Penguinsix for the suggestions!

Home Depot are very good at cutting keys and cheap too. I have used them several times.

Lowes also does key cutting if there is one near you.

WalMart often has one of those kiosks like the ones that dispense videos for rental.

Pretty much any hardware store.

Our local Lowes has one where you can mess up your key yourself.

Do you have a local shoe repair? Both that I've used here also do keys.
