Default Where do you keep your green card

Reading on the UCIS website that it is a requirement to carry your Green Card with you at all times.

Keen to see if people actually do this? Seems a bit of a worry to me as losing it entails more hassle in getting a new one.

What do people do in reality?

Cheers!

As far as I know my DH keeps it in a drawer with his passport.

When I had one I kept it in the safe. I never carried it with me.

The GC comes with a search feature, that's handy when you lose it carrying it around.

In this day and age...I keep it with me at all times. Right along with my driver's license.

Thanks for the helpful comment. Its nice to see a helpful answer rather than the sarcastic ones written by the moderators of this forum.

I carry mine with me in my wallet - I haven't lost a wallet for over 20 years so I think the risk is appropriate. That said, if I go jogging I only carry my keys.

I have scanned the green card and keep copies online incase it disappears when I am travelling around.

My reply wasn't sarcastic. I am genuinely cheesed that you, a member here for three years, and an experienced user of these forums, would not have the courtesy to attempt a search before asking whether or not other members agree you should break the law.

It's the law to carry it at all times. So it's in my wallet.

I keep a digital scan, suitably encrypted, in several virtual locations should I need a copy of it if it got lost or stolen.

Users on your forum giving you a hard time? I keep a couple of reserves to go vent my spleen on too.
