Your poll is flawed. What about the marriage visas? Or did you miss that forum?

I'm waiting for my AOS appointment. Do I vote for what I plan on getting (GC)?

Sorry, I had "issues" just getting a poll off the ground. My web browser is playing up, I am finding that if I click on a button, I get no response, but my mind says (subconsciously), "move on, button pushed", and I get unexpected results.

I wish there was a way I could add that option, "marriage visas?" ... can I do that? Sorry for missing this, but I am beginning to realize "its my browser" ... I feel like a fast growing teenager whose brain has to catch up with his/her leg length, new arm length etc. Except that it is my browser that is shrinking in its performance, it seems to have grown resistant to my mouse clicks, or maybe it is my mouse that is not registering my finger clicks and so I am blaming my browser in error, in which case I apologize in advance to Mr./Ms. browser. But I can still be a plank. So mea culpa.

Did you somehow misread the poll question?

In my case, I had to visit the local INS (I guess it's USCIS) office to get a 10 year GC. Also, like countless others in the same boat, I filled in a form and provided copies of our joint back a/c, joint signed lease, etc. So the 2-year job/GC doesn't change or update automatically. Likewise after 3 years (or five if not married to a USC), one has to pro-actively seek USC, e.g., a 10 year green card doesn't automatically mature into USC. Requires a few more proactive steps on the part of the GC holder.

That was pointless!

1. A marriage visa is not seperate from any other visa up there

2. All the people here via marriage who have voted have now lost there vote

My suggestion for future votes:

What is your status in the US?
Citizen by birth
Citizen by naturalization
Permanent resident
Conditional permanent resident
Working or marriage visa that may eventually allow permanent residency
Working visa that does not allow permanent residency
Educational or exchange visa
Tourism visa
Without visa
Other
I don’t live in the US

So where would the marriage visa people have voted?

You might as well start a new one, Sue has negated this one by adding a categorie after the poll has started. She also made a mockery of the poll by pampering to the lack of understanding of some members of visa process by adding a sub-category of one already there.
