That price is ridiculous. I buy the exact same package in the supermarket, I think it is $4.50 or thereabouts..

I thought it was a tad pricey, but then I've only seen the regular Yorkshire teabags down this way, never seen the Gold stuff.

I go to a high end "whole foodey" supermarket in Burlington, VT, they charge the same for Yorkshire and for Yorkshire Gold.. it occurs to me that there is meant to be a small price differential, but I don't know..

No, I haven't put loose tea in my pot for years, just bung in a couple of the bags & fill up. The husband & I drink a pot between the two of us in a morning, & sometimes I make up a second.

Do they even sell loose tea here in the States? I mean in the ordinary supermarkets, not in specialty shops? I have to confess I've never thought to look for it here . . . .

Wow, that's a LOT more than Trader Joe's Irish Breakfast, which comes to something less than $2.50 for 80 count IIRC.

Yes you can, though it's usually twinnings and a bit minging...but even Walmart has it. Thing is, you know it's probably been sitting around quite a while and be a bit minging, so better to get it from somewhere a bit better for tea, Wegmans at the very least.

It's the same for coffee though, I think...but I'm not that pretentious to care quite that much

Yorkshire Tea is much cheaper at the import shops than it is on Amazon. Its also the only tea that anyone should drink, just because it says Yorkshire on it.
When I had 20 people over for my wedding I had a few of them brought Yorkshire Tea with them so when they left I took what they didn't use. As a result I think I'll be fine for quite a while yet.

Back on topic, I usually have cadburys chocolate sent over, plus Haribo Star Mix and Bisto powder.

I've got some Yorkshire Gold tea bags in the cupboard at the moment. got them for Christmas off the out-laws. Makes a nice cuppa, but a bit on the strong side. As for American teas, I like Community tea bags.

Oxo cubes
Marmite
Lemsip
Tunes or Lockets
Extra strong mints
Chocolate (of course)
My sister quite often buys us a big tin of either Roses, Celebration or Quality Street and decants it into a bag.
Maltesers, Smarties, Percy Pigs, Lemon Bon Bons and Lemon Sherbets.

They also bring us tons of clothes. I'm sure there's more food they bring too.

Oh yeah, Quality Street would be good!

We've got bucket loads of Marmite and my mother sent an insane amount of Lemsips during winter.

Seabrook Beefy crisps
Aromat seasoning
Bisto gravy
Butter mints
a new Peppa Pig dvd

No one is coming to visit though so we'll have to stock up next trip.

Firstly I don't get visitors, been here 11 years next month and don't expect that to change any time soon.
I don't miss too much any more, I buy Tetley British Blend tea bags from Fred Meyer also Bisto and Oxo and thats about it, occasionally I'll buy HP sauce or picalilli. I can't eat chocolate anymore so no probs there.
I'm visiting the UK later this month and I'm stumped as to what to take over, I got a bottle of local wine and some peeps my brother said not to bother as they didn't want anything in particular and most of the touristy stuff is made in China anyways.
