The thing is, we don't over-cool or over-heat our home. Many people around here seem to cool their home to <70deg. We keep ours at 78deg in the summer. Similarly, we only heat to 68deg in the winter. The savings from wearing a few more clothes in winter, and a few less in summer, is probably >$100 per month.
We do similar, but a bit higher - normally around 70 in the winter (I've gone all soft since living in Singapore....) and 82 in the summer - we run ceiling fans everywhere, which make it feel cooler. Our last place we used to work out around $150 ish per month over the year (I think) That was 2900 sqft. We've just moved to 4900 sqft, and it has a full wall of windows overlooking a lake facing due west (who's bright idea was that then??) so I'm guessing our bills are going to be a bit higher.....

Do you have a photo of the beach house? Then I'll decide if your worthy of it.

Thrilled for you, great place to take the kids and relax. We always had lake camps to spend the weekend during my childhood. My best memories were there.

We have about 1.25 acres of land, with a 3 bed, 2 bath Double wide on it at the mo! (proper trailer trash me!) But looking into zoning to see if we can build on our land, if not we will be moving in the next 1-2 years (after bits and pieces of work that need to be done are!) but this is our first place and was a steal when we bought it, you have to start somewhere (especially when I am not working yet!) nice and peaceful here and a nice neighbourhood all told!)

I think the above picture is his beach house. Not much but a hut by the looks of it.

I couldn't care less how many square feet I have it's a house but if you want a larf I have a bar in my living room and an in-wall fish tank like you see in chinese restaurants. No we didn't put these in we inherited them with the house. They're satisfyingly naff.

You've shown us yours, well here's ours. About 2000sq ft with half acre of "yard". And a basement Austin Powers would die for. Groovy baby.

Many years ago, the Governor of Arkansas that took over from someone who moved to dc *wink wink* moved into a triplewide whilst the mansion was being deloused...err...remodeled

He was frequently on the Leno show via satelitte. What a hoot it was!

It's really nice to see all the different house styles.

Thanks, Partystar. We do like our house, we have the wrap around porch which, so far we have not had skunks or anything take up residence in. We did have an armadillo last year but haven't seen one so far this year.

Jan - I really really like your house too! Something very woodsy and appealing about it!
