What's the best state for tax purposes?
 
Which states have the lowest income tax, state tax, business tax, etc?

Florida springs to mind.

It depends what you mean by "best", doesn't it? If you mean where you pay the least tax, that's one thing, but if you're talking about where you get the best deal in terms of taxes paid vs. public services back, that's a completely different thing.

A quick Google search for "state taxes" will find you lots of information about this. including:

"The best and worst states for taxes" from MSN Money

"Taxes by State" from The Retirement Living Information Center

"State tax roundup" from bankrate.com

Even if you live in the most heavily taxed state, Maine (which collects an average of 13.5% of residents' income),
