One of the best movies I ever saw was The green Mile starring Tom Hanks... I cried for about 15 mins solid at the end of that. Another one I found extremely touching was Schindlers List

Whats yours?

Goodfellas is my favourite.
Joe Pesci(sp?) is superb in it.

This is too hard a question to answer..too many to choose from. I went to see Closer last week and that was pretty fantastic.

Th'usbands favourite is star wars... BORING!

Another question for everyone : Which is the best trilogy - Stars Wars* or Lord Of The Rings
*When I say Star Wars I do NOT mean the recent ones with Jar Jar Binks and all that shite, I mean the proper trilogy, not when Yoda chatted to Samuel L. Jackson all day and had a 'tache!

Lord of the Rings... undoubtedly. A whole world that Tolkien created, down to every detail. even the history. A brilliant man. And P Jackson did a superb job casting for the films.

its a hard hard thing to ask... so heres a list... I couldn't choose just one without being unfair to the rest.

Shine, Green Mile, Shawshank for their emotional content
LOTR trilogy for astounding brilliance in realisation and execution of a classic
Fight Club, for surprising the hell outta me
American History X, for a devasting example of irony incarnate
Starship troopers, Armageddon, Independance Day,T2, Pitch Black, Riddick - everyone needs explosions, aliens, hard men, harder women in their lives.

More of a reason to be grateful about life. Directing was excellent just cannot wait till the special edition turns up on DVD.

The movie told a great moving story. Unexpected vits too! I mean "bits" of course.

that movie was so boring...just days of him dragging the cross, and then suddenly the whole story squeezed into the last few mins.

I think The Passion was the only film I've ever seen whereby the entire cinema audience was crying - including myself. The only other film where thats happened is when I went to see Shadowlands - has anyone else seen that? Its excellent, very moving and, like the Passion, based on a ture story.
When is the special edition of the Passion coming out - do you have any idea? I thought it'd be out of Christmas but it wasn't.
