We are just relaxing. We're only back a week from the UK and I'm sick of too much food and drink! I've worked alot of Thanksgivings and I'm glad my place is closed.

This WON"T be becoming a new tradition, I prefer the days it is just me, DH and Daisy dog!!! - bah humbug!!!

Hopefully we will also head to the mountains over the weekend and enjoy some skiing!!

Well there's certainly enough snow for it now!

If anyone asks me that I just say the Brits have it earlier in the year on 4th July.

I bought something at Costco yesterday...pumpkin maple butter spread. I had it on toast and it's delicious! There's a recipe online for rice krispies squares with this spread mixed in...I'm going to try it as my contribution to our Thanksgiving dessert.

A Coconut Cheesecake with Coconut Crust - made one for my sons birthday last month and it turned out perfectly (even if I do say so myself) and a St Honore Trifle which i haven't made before so it may or may not be coming with us .

Thank you. If it's not too much hassle could you post the pics too? My mouth is watering...I'll have to eat a Dairy Milk to compensate.

We started doing just the breast a couple of years ago, so we didn't have to eat the rest of the bird forever! But last year I did an Indian recipe for duck with a cashew nut stuffing, and that has been requested again, and we'll keep the turkey for Christmas.

I'll be working. But I did get a free turkey today so might do the dinner with all the trimmings on Saturday as I'm off which is rare for the weekend.

Mr J isn't fussed about celebrating it, as he's one of those that bang on about how his people slaughtered the Indians etc, but he's not one to turn down good food

ETA sorry...I mean Native Americans

I tell people that we celebrate the day the Pilgrims (aka Dissenters/Separatists) left Plymouth - September 6th.
