Can you believe it but I've been married over 10 years and I've never cooked a traditional sunday Dinner...we've never lived in the U.k as a family so it's just never been done and as my hubby isn't a Brit it's never been expected...I hate to cook

I'm a full blooded American, however, Sunday dinner was always a sit down big meal thing in our house. Usually around 3 in the afternoon. My husband is Canadian and is use to the same thing. But these days with only the two of us to cook for I don't do it but once a month. Then the menu would vary from pork to chicken to roast beef or any number of other international main meals. But even then bread is never served with our dinner unless we are eating Italian nor is dessert.

Love reading though about all the good meals members here like to partake of. Even if it makes me queasy ;-)

I cook when I cook...more so when hubby is here but unlike in the U.k Sunday is not typically a Roast day, I grew up with me mam cooking dinner with the kids while the man of the house pissed off to the pub for a few...didn't everybody? Never been done here...when I do cook it's always a sit down affair at the table food served in dishes etc ..dunno how that came about cos dinner was always just put on the plate when I was a kid and sitting in front of the tele wasn't unusual either

i'm sure the nuggets are ok, andi f the fries are made from actual potato it's ok too, but even if fat is bad for you, so is processed food so i like to have the proper stuff once in a while. The disgusting this is the idea of a Maccy D's fries-butty (doesn't even sound right!)

I've never liked Boston market, they always smell funny, I think it's the disinfectant that they use to wipe down the tables (yuck!). If I ever ate there again I would have to go through the drive thru so I didn't have to smell it (mind you, I don't think they have drive thru's do they?)

Not sure about drive thrus, but until today i always thought that they looked a bit dodgy - quite impressed.
They do a roast chicken take out meal for $20 that could prob feed a family of 4 quite comfortably.

Sounds wonderful but you'll never assimilate that way. You have to have Biscuits and Gravy for Sunday Brunch at your local diner.
