okay , okay i've heard about everything you miss from Britain and everything you don't miss....................but what if you suddenly had to pack up and move back to the U.K??

You've had no time to adjust to the idea ..."bang" you're back in Britain.............once the joy of real bacon and sausages passed what would you miss from the states? and I'm not just talking about food

me I'd miss

out door swimming pools
bar b ques
seeing the sun
Margarita's in the pool/on the porch
those instant cake mixes (you know duncan hines.in Britain you'd have to bake from scratch )
friendly smiliey service , (who cares if it's fake?)
microwave popcorn
cheap gas
large washing machine
Halloween!
Xmas lights(man these people go nuts i love it!!!!)
large home large yard (the thought of a terrace makes me shiver!)
Wal-mart(yeah i shop there!)
Hamburgerhelper(ok ok so I've made it when i'm in a rush heck the kids love it!!)
god there's so much more!!! The foods better here too ...have you seen the size of the steak you can get for $10?? huge!!!! Bob told me he can get a fresh lobster for $6!!!
I miss Britian but the U.S has it's pluses too!

3 months of winter - well it gets cold anyway

Saturday night live and the great race - the only two half decent shows on tv

having an accent that most people love and automatically think I'm clever (if they only knew)

neighbours who enjoy chatting when we're all outside, rather than hiding behind their panel fencing or hedge, pretending like they don't see you (If only I could get them around for dinner...)

pizza (I'm in Chicagoland-doesn't matter if it's not authentically Italian; this stuff is brilliant)

the weather, the weather and the weather... even in the winter. It might be freezing out there, but at least the sun is out!

I'm in freezing cold, howling wind, where's my thermals, crank the heating up New England so I definately wouldn't miss the weather. We had a bollocks summer here and there were really few nights when we could sit out without shivering.

I'd miss my husband as there's no way in hell he'd ever live in England, but I'm sure I'd get over it.

I'd miss the cheap gas that allows us to run a big boat all summer. Couldn't possibly do that back home.

That's pretty much it. Cheap gas and husband.

Actually I met a guy from Scotland the other day he didn't even guess I was from Britain! after talking over 15 mins I mentioned Wales (assuming he knew ) and he was slighly taken aback...said he would of guessed I was from New Zealand!!

I've had many guess I'm from Oz but they were all American's ......I've been away too long y'all

How amusing it is to see everyone talk of cheap housing, large houses, large yards, quiet roads etc etc......

obviously none of you are in California!!!! Everything cots a fortune, even stuff like breakfast cereal ($5) and deodorant (again, $5!).....blighty is a hell of alot cheaper than here!

yeah i've heard it's expensive over there i have friends from L.A who are here in Texas and very homesick but just can't afford to move back....two kids in tow...maybe y'all wanna consider movin' out here...........
