Re: What type of posts go where . ( moved from Florida thread)

Okays.

So we all seem to have become a little muddled over time. That happens. Let's all regroup and refocus on this one.

Our mutual aim here is to help , advise and support. We do this by giving of our free time, our experience , our advice and our knowledge. Pooled together and peer reviewed. That means we give the best collective info that we can as BE members. This includes the moderators. They are also volunteers who give even more of their free time to ensure that the cogs that run BE move smoothly.

Now. I can remove all the USA sub forums if posters feel that multi-topic threads are the way to go. No probs.
However the USA sub forums evolved precisely because that was not working at all . Individual issues were being lost and both OPs and regular posters became frustrated at wading through & sorting posts that they felt were not pertinent to their own line of conversation. For example. Visas. General living. This is now more true IMO now that we have posters using mobile phones to scroll responses.

The easiest way to help someone with multi questions is to guide as well as help. You guide them to the suitable sub forum, rather like you would a library section. That helps them. It helps us help them.

None of it is about being stringent or unbending. It is not about jumping on someone for asking a question at all. It is about using a BE road map to get the person where they need to be.

Now. Rene has so much care and patience that it knows no bounds. She had absolutely no need at all to apologise for asking BE regulars to respect the very sub forums that they themselves. through their own posts over the decades. brought into being.

Using a USA term - 'going forward' - BE has USA sub forums. Please use these. If anyone feels these are of no use please bring this to my attention . If something needs moving, please report that. If a moderator acts in a way you do not agree with then you take that to PM. In the case of a multi- approach query , please direct to the appropriate sub-forum for that is what they are for.

Any issues. Message me.
