Default What is it with these no appointment doc offices?

Strange......

It seems around here in Daytona they love their walk in docs offices. Loads of em, was in there an hour and a half, and still hadn't got into the next area, which was also another waiting area. In fact after waiting for nearly 90 mins, of the 7 people who had gone ahead of me, none had come out from the 2nd waiting area.

Now Im gonna have to read thru another bunch of docs and see who has a seemingly normal practice, which u can make appointments with!

I thought 30 mins was bad enough in the Uk, but 3hrs + is crazy!

Any of you other guys in other states have these abundance of walk ins, compared to appointment practices?

My wife said in Maryland they are rare, and more for emergencies...

Where we are on Long Island they are more for emergency care (urgent care facility). The primary carers and specialists all have appointment systems which still take forever sometimes. I've learnt to ask how long the wait is in doctors offices that I have had to wait longer than 1/2hour for. Once or twice I can understand but not regularly. I have changed doctors numerous times to find a practise that knows how to be efficient as well as polite and caring.

I know with the urgent care facilities here, you can call before you go and ask what the wait is like. Maybe you could do the same for the doctors offices in your area.

As the previous person said - it is becoming more the norm. in the UK to not have an appointment system too. I know our old doctor's place changed over because she was fed up of people making appointments and then not turning up!
