You get what you pay for

Cheap

Houses
Cars (domestic)
Clothes

Shit quality

Houses
Cars
Clothes

Things that are actually good quality in the USA are bizarrely enough often more expensive than in the UK

definately the case, especially with the food, some great quality, but you don't half pay for it.

Peoples financial retardedness

Like having a combined income of $60k per year and buying and buying 2 nearly new cars combined value of $55k

Don't get me started

Although this is becoming commonplace in the UK - one of my mates just bought a 8 year old BMW M3 and rolled his old car loan balance onto the new (5 year) loan. Hes nearly 30 and still living at home.......

Fool. (and i have told him that, and so have our other friends)

costs a fortune, are you mad????? their kids clothes especially are fabulous. to get the same quality here, I have to buy my son, labels such as Quicksilver which are so much more expensive, I can buy him a well made pair of jeans from Next for about $20, his Quicksilver ones were $50.. Targets clothes aren't bad but again for the decent quality stuff it ain't cheap, the last pair of shorts I bought him were about $18, again no more expensive than Next. I could dress him very cheap from places such as Walmart but I'd rather not, thanks, they're so poorly made, shrink terribly in the dryer and give him a rash 'cos of the horrible materials they use..
From my point of view I hate the clothes here unless I'm prepared to spend a lot of money, there is no equivelant of places such as Next, M&S, Topshop etc etc, most shops either cater for teens or old farts, nothing in between. I have yet to find a decent pair of Jeans for less than $100, my last pair were $200.. I refuse to wear jeans that have tapered legs and a waist that sits just below my tits hence me spending a fortune...

You might be able to find someone who custom makes jeans, they will fit better but they cost more.

I don't buy t-shirts or underwear here; the last lot fell apart in the wash. So I ask my mum to send me stuff from M&S.

What's wrong with being nearly 30 and still living at home ??
There seems to be this big thing about setting up your own place, but if you don't mind living at home with your folks why should other people give you a hard time - rather live at home with my folks than bust my balls to buy an ex-council 2 up 2 down and fill it with tat from ikea.
