hi all just wondering what is needed to move to the U.S for work etc im 25 with a partner and a son im pub manager here at moment but would love a new life in the states . is there any websites people are familiar with to look for work opportunities or anyone who has done it who could help me ut on how much money to take out with me if it was possible to go many thanks

You need a visa. Read the wiki, but on the limited info it seems unlikely that you would be able to get one.

Hi and welcome

As you are probably gathering from the replies, your desire to move to the US is going to hit an incredible roadblock regarding the right to live and work in the United States. You will need a visa and frankly, there is no shortage of pub managers in the US right now. Most of the visas are reserved for highly skilled technical positions (think engineers, doctors, scientists) or for management positions in multi-national corporations who transfer people from the home office to their US branches. Plan B is marriage or some other relation to a US citizen.

I should note however, that about 99% of the people who want to move to the US are stopped point blank trying to find a visa they qualify for on that page.

I know of at least 2 pub managers/owners in my county in Florida who are Brits.
I do not know how they achieved it, but my guess is via marriage to a USC.

You are most likely right, but they could be E-2's.

Now that I think about it, there was a bar managed by a Brit near me too, but I know his wife is a USC. Unfortunately he lost interest in the cellar bar he owned, it presumably wasn't a roaring success, and it was just really a side project/ hobby along side his main business as, IIRC, a wine & spriits importer/ distributer.
