You poor bastard...LOL. Hey, at least I know who to go to when I run into problems on Solaris...hehehe.

Are you up on OpenBoot? nvedit and stuff? Just curious...
Can't say that I am! I have never had the "privelige" of using Solaris.. All of my experience is either AIX or UNIXWARE (Novells flavor of UNIX). My knowledge of Solaris is limited to the basic commands.

Anyway... Why poor bastard?!?! UNIX is a great OS in many of its more refined flavors, and I wouldn't hear a bad word said about it!!

Out of interest, what do you all do in the world of work?

The classic H1-B software developer this end. Hopefully moving into a different field once my greencard arrives
I work 6-8 month contracts in UK as Housing Services Manager for Housing Association and Local Council. Project Manager, Policy and Research, Resident Participation, Service improvement reviews. Been at it 25 years, so I can slot into almost any area of Housing Management that has a vacancy.

I then spend 4 - 6 months in US partying and lounging about.

Wow a Destroyer, we havn't had any of them in the British Navy for over 30 years.
I think we just use Tug boats now, well 2 of them anyway..

I've used SCO UNIXWARE, and Novell Netware before.
I was going to make a comment about UNIXWARE being a NOVELL system but have just done some research and found out that it transfered to SCO in 1995!?!?!?!?!

That shows how old the UNIXWARE servers that we had were. I think they were barely Y2K complient!
