Things I bring back - Imperial leather shower gel, poppadoms, teabags, 2lb of stilton, Walkers cheese and onion crisps and a battenburg cake. This trip, leave tonight to London, I'll also bring Christmas goodies.

As for bread, bring the yeast!
Flapjacks, Golden syrup cake, syrup pudding (another use for the horrifically priced suet) and honeycomb - when the crunchie craving gets too strong t resist. I also have a really nice golden lime cheesecake recipe that is far too nice to sub it out of

You are.

Me, I've been up before the parole board and I've got parole in England for three months, January to March. Long enough that I don't have to try to catch up on eating all in a couple of days ..

Well, I have to call my wife each day to tell her what I'm up to, so more stringent than an ankle thingy ...

Don't get caught! I'm pretty sure cheese - especially blue cheese with bacteria in it - is illegal to bring in.

This may help: https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/82/ Note that this covers items brought in with the traveler as personal baggage (checked baggage is OK). You have to declare the food you are bringing in.

-Cheese- Solid cheese (hard or semi-soft, that does not contain meat); butter, butter oil, and cultured milk products such as yogurt and sour cream are not restricted. Feta cheese, Brie, Camembert, cheese in brine, Mozzarella and Buffalo Mozzarella are permissible (USDA Animal Product Manual, Table 3-14-6). Cheese in liquid (such as cottage cheese or ricotta cheese) and cheese that pours like heavy cream are not admissible from countries affected by foot-and-mouth disease (FMD). Cheese containing meat is not admissible depending on the country of origin.
All cheeses contain bacteria (except for the pasteurized process kinds) because they are fermentation products of milk. Enzymes and acids also play a role. Blue-type cheeses also contain their specific molds.

Good luck with this its a nightmare trying to find foods without it. The only way you can tell is if the label says "does not contain GE or GM ingredients" They do not have to label the foods here that contain it

Its also hard to avoid HFCS its in absolutely everything. I try hard to make sure the stuff we eat is free from both GE/GM food and HFCS but its difficult. Trader Joes is great.

Chicken breasts here are HUGE the size of a turkey breast in the UK so you can only imagine what has been in the feed and added to them

There is a big difference in how my kids have developed physically, my eldest was 5 when we arrived here and wasn't exposed to the hormones that are also in the food from as early age as my youngest. I put it down to the milk cheese and fresh chicken and steaks. There is three and a half years age difference between them and the youngest who is now 12 is more developed, the same height and has bigger feet than my nearly 16 yr old.

If I were to move back to the US right now, Quavers would be on the top of my list.

You know your kids best, but in my family our middle brother shot up and overtook the rest of us, and in his family, his older boy is so tall and wide that as soon as they took a look at him in marching band, they handed him a tuba. My husband calls him Finn MacCool. His younger brother is, like me, short stuff; we take after our little immigrant mom and dad who were each five and a half feet tall. All I'm saying is that we all grew up in the US, but we didn't all become overgrown monsters. Not sure about my nephew, though.
