Oh's job.
Somedays I like it, somedays I don't.
If I had a choice........because of healthcare here, I would choose the UK.

The Food! I love the extra variaties. I know a lot is avaliale in UK, but I never tasted taco's untill I came here and now I'm hooked. Other than that, I've learnt that people are people wherever you go and the same goes for politics too.

I believe doctors make very good money here - at least some say significantly more than in the UK. So if that is true, you can probably make up for it after those years anyway (I hope).

That's true I would think - we don't generally keep captives after all - you could always go back.

LOL the one thing Keith's brother wanted, when coming over here for our wedding, was to go to TACO BELL!!!

Keith told him nooooo you don't - we'll get you a proper taco if you want one

A harder working ethic than the UK:
- The harder you work here, the more you can 'get' (whatever you 'get' or want to 'get' is up to you of course) VERSUS ..
- Handout culture you can fell back in UK - ie: no need to work hard or push yourself, you can still drive a big motor and have Sky+ and foreign holidays on the handouts.
This breeds a certain culture I havent come across here - yet anway...

The availability of 'space' - big houses, wide roads, wide car parking spaces - takes a while to get used to to start with though

Oh and the politeness of the people

I can ride my Harley through the Appalachian mountains without wearing a helmet and then when I am done go and shoot some clay pigeons with a shotgun or do some target practice, because I can. Plus the missus made me move here.

Being able to go out for a nice meal and not feel as though you need to take out a second mortgage to do so! It may sound materialistic but this is one of the things I miss about living in the US. I think in general I find the ease and accesibility of being able to do things i.e. not fighting congestion every weekend better than in the UK.

I like:
The weather where I live.
My house.
The big department stores.
Wide roads.
Choice of restaurants.
Great beaches.
Politeness of people.
The choice of places to go in this country: i.e. desert, mountains, beaches, NYC, Hawaii, Key West, the Smoky Mountains - just the vastness.
I am also very happy with my medical care.
