In Los Angeles it was about 45% then in the Mojave Desert area it dropped to about 25% initially, that was in 1999, it stayed around there for about 3 years until the LA boom took over, within 2 years it went from 25% to about 40%.

I know people down in Palm Beach County who are paying over 60-70% of their income on housing. For rentals.
