Yeah, bit like Christmas ... really great fun for the kids; though I must say I do like setting up the "big" tree and putting lots on ornaments and stuff on it.

Around my neighborhood (boy am I sounding "American") one gets to see lots of wee ones running along the sidewalk-free streets in dark costumes and along unlit streets. What is it with unlit streets and pavement free roads? Anyway, parents are running round with torches to keep their flocks safe.

I must say I love going around and looking at the front yards, such excellent displays of bloodcurdling sensational horror! :scared: Enough to make Nessie (Loch Ness monster) loose his/her marbles!

We've got a busy weekend as usual. I'm having the carpets cleaned in the morning so no doubt I will be hanging around waiting for the cleaners to arrive for quite a while.

We've been looking into adopting a couple of dogs and so tomorrow afternoon we are going to meet some Siberian huskies at an adoption event.

Sunday we will be taking the kids swimming, finishing off the science fair projects and then trick or treating in the evening.

Nice lie in to look forward to on Sunday morning too. Yippee.

I still can't quite get used to the idea that it's warm when we go out trick or treating. It's usually freezing cold and windy back home and teenagers knock on the door not wearing a costume and push the smallest of the group forward to stick out his hand for some cash

Then of course there is the other added bonus, the kids round here don't seem to have heard of mischief night so I don't need to worry about an air bomb going off in the front garden or flour and eggs coating everything next week just before bommy night. (ah those were the days)

I'm partying tonight Yay!!! It means that
a) I'll be out of the house for trick or treaters and
b) I can drink loads... except that
c) I have to get up at 5am on Sunday to go to a car boot sale and sell most of my worldly goods in order to reduce the cost of international removals to something remotely feasible.

So, a weekend of ups and downs for me. Life's a bitch, huh?

Watching the Hawks beat the Orange Panthers at U-10 girls football on Saturday, and coaching the U-10 All Stars on Sunday. 2 Days of football, ah life is indeed sweet.

Damn make that watching the girls draw 0-0 with a coach who set out to play for a draw and had no intention of trying to win the game. At U-10 seems a strange idea.

Forget Halloween. On a drive through Clayton, NC earlier today, I was dumbfounded to see a 50 ft inflatable snowman in a shopping center. I couldn't believe my eyes!

I was really tempted to sneak over there and pop it! It's too damn early to have the Crimbo stuff out, please!

As for Halloween, I feel I could scare the schitt out of kiddies by me dressed up as a penguin and answering the door like that! Don't worry, I won't be doing this but it is a good idea, don't you think?

An extra hour in bed on Sunday morning!

And next weekend I guess all the neighbours will be putting up the Christmas lights in their gardens....

Pretty much the same as any other weekend, I think halloween is a load of b/s personally. We watched the Day Before Tomorrow last night. The effects are superb, certainly makes u think about all this global warming.

My husband and I have just got back from a Halloween party at our local pet store for dogs....yes that is correct. When I say we just got back in actual fact we drove over there, saw the party and decided to make a quick exit. We couldnt face the fact our dog would be the only one not dressed up, we would probably have been reported to the local animal cruelty shelter.
