westchester ny advice
 

apologies if i've done this wrong - I'm a bit of a forum virgin...

I have a friend who is moving to Westchester with her husband and kids this summer and I wanted to buy her a leaving gift which will help her settle in.

I was thinking about a gift voucher for a gym or spa where she could take some classes and meet other people.
Does anyone have any ideas where would be good to start looking? Or any other gift ideas?

Westchester County, NY is a large area. Gift certificates are lovely and I believe there is a general spa certificate that can be used at many spas in Westchester. Have a google search.

There is one in Briarcliff Manor that my daughter loves. I use a Day Spa in Eastchester and there are many in the Scarsdale, Hartsdale and White Plains area. If it has "Central Avenue" as an address it would be easy to get to. But frankly, spas are not for meeting people but rather for relaxing and usually the massages, facials, etc. are done in a private room.

The ages of her children, her interests, the town they are moving to, etc. should be figured in when looking for something to get her aquainted with her town and its residents.
