We landed safely

We are finally here. Two years of planning have come to fruition!! It has only been 3 weeks, but everyday we wake up with a smile. Yes there are lots of differences over here (Sarasota) but we were prepared. This board has certainly helped us prepare. Last week we passed our driving tests, picked up our new car, received our bank cards.

Our two children are starting summer school tomorrow.

Yesterday we went to the beach at 5.00pm, it was still 90 degrees at 8.00pm!!!!!

If I could give any advice, it would be plan and prepare. I did so much ground work whilst in the UK, with the internet, there is so much that you can find out before you come.

Next step..... Ensure our new business is as successful as our UK one - keep watching...... :-)

Thanks everyone for helping us to make it happen!!!!!

Congrats!!! So, does all that mean you actually like living in Florida? According to frrussre, you should be about ready to pack up and move back to the UK by now.

Anyway, welcome to our side of the pond!:D

Kazzu & family congratulations to you all. Have a great time.
Unlike Jabba (I don't think he has ever been outside the USA) you sound sensible & realistic, that’s good.

Once again Good luck, in your Endeavors.

I don't want to rain on Kazzuk family parade.

See my comment else where.

Kazzuk, what business are you opening in FL?

Hi Frank

We are opening a corporate gift co. specialising in gift hampers/baskets with an English theme. We are importing the hamper cases from Europe as they are far better quality than the far east ones. Currently we are working on a state of the art ecommerce website to launch the business.

As well as the food hampers, we will be supplying corporations with personalised picnic hampers/backpacks - similar to Harrods.

You can view our UK co. at www.corporatehampers.com

I will post on the forum when we are up and running and ready to take orders!!

Thanks for your interest

:-)

Why move to Florida to run an ecommerce site with imported European items?

Would it not have been cheaper to stay in Europe and do that?

edit: nice site but you may want to get the web guru to check the spelling of "Congratulations" in your animated BuyOnlineBanner.gif

kazzuk Jun 16th 2003 4:15 am

We wanted to live in Florida. We will be sending the hampers throughout the US which would not have been possible had we stayed in England. We will work in conjunction with our UK office and cover both the US and UK markets.
We will be using some US products and will also be employing US workers.

This market has huge potential and had we stayed in the UK, we would not have been able to service our US clients properly.

:-)

I will get that sorted out asap.

Thanks again
