Default We have a Wegmans...at last

...well we don't, but it's close enough in a neighbouring town....quite exciting really as it's across the way from the new BJ's, which has even cheaper petrol than the one in town.

The real big excitement is that they are both the stores which sell booze...yes, that's pretty exciting stuff around here

So after all the build up....it weren't half bad really, not badly priced either...though the muppet at the till didn't actually scan our coupons we had so didn't get the freebies or discounts we were supposed to have had, only noticed when we left the store and wasn't about to pop right back in as it was mayhem in there

I like Wegmans glad yours is open now, not sure you'll notice it any better than say Wholefoods of TJs though. But we don't have any of those round these parts

It's much cheaper than Wholefoods...but saying that, our "local" one is in Wayland, which sells a small booze selection..

Our local Trader Joes isn't nearly as nice as the one in Framingham, it's not bad, but rather limited.

Not sure we'd go to Wegmans all the time, but it's close enough from where the missus works to get fresh goods, seemed lot cheaper than our local Hannafords at least.

Wegmans rocks. I have to make do with the cack that is Tops in central NY. That or Price Chopper - which is just as naff. There is a Hannafords a 30 min drive away which is okay, but still not a patch on Wegmans.

Price Chopper...now that is shit...and considering they have so many coupons and the like, it's still not cheap, but it is really scummy...

I love Wegman's. Haven't been to one in years though, since I moved away from NY. Try their chocolate eclairs in the bakery section, yum! And I love their chinese food, though I learned after moving away that chinese food isn't supposed to taste quite like that, so you may or may not like it!

Not a big fan of tongue, but there's a sandwich place in town that does some old school ones that are pretty good and if you're ever in Wayland, MA....there's a superb sandwich place there....

Anyway, loving the Wegmans own brand salt and vinegar crisps...really tart

Can't say I've tried their bacon but their sausages (Italian style) are really good. Love their own brand yogurts the 'organic super yogurt'. They also carry the Summer Fresh brand of hummus and dip type stuff, they have this roasted red pepper dip, which is fantastic. http://www.summerfresh.com/

Cool, will have to give it a shot

I loved the Trader Joes range of dips too, the hummus mixes are lovely

So the cheapo own brand deli cheese and ham was pretty damn good...and the fresh squeezed OJ was lovely, but my word that was pricey.

The yoghurt really was lovely too.

Oh and they have pretty decent beer samples.

The baby formula is pretty cheap too, which is handy.

Oh yeah forget to say the double smoked ham off the bone and their turkey lunch meant is really good.

Ahh lucky! One of the best things about living in PA were all the Wegmans, and now of course, none in NYC. Trader Joes doesn't even really compare. The bakery aisle in Wegmans is my happy place.
