Just a word of warning to those bringing Canadian made vehicles into the US. I imported my vehicle from Canada to the US in January of this year. I registered the car in Virginia with only a minor glitch (not all of the correct forms from customs...I asked for them but the official insisted I didn't need them...fortunately, they allowed me to register the vehicle anyway...). I recently moved to Arizona, and prior to registering my car, here, I had to produce the same documents...clearance letter, customs authorization, etc. Fortunately, I still had copies of everything.

Registering and obtaining title on a vehicle once is not sufficient...if you change states, you may need to provide the clearance information again, since each state has different regulations.
