War & Immigration processing?
This may sound paranoid, but does anyone know what the effect might be if the US starts a war... just wondering with the whole Iraq situation? I know there are obviously more pressing issues if that does happen but I'm curious since it would be even more stressful to be apart during such uncertainty.
Does the INS processing grind to a proverbial halt? Anyone know?

The US didn't start the war.
Iraq invaded Kuwait.
Iraq agreed to terms to end the war.
Iraq didn't didn't follow the terms.

During Operation Desert Storm, INS continued to process immigrant visas.
I see no reason for it to stop during a similar event. Of course,
securiry
at consulate will be tight and that will cause delays.

On a lighter note and I appologise to the thread starter,
Since my local office, Seattle, is quoted as being under staffed, would sending the AOS forms along with an application form to work there speed up the process??????????????
