Wanting to move to California
We are a young couple aged 24 and 22 from England and Denmark. Both of us really want to move over to California as we both have been there several times and love everything is has to offer.
We both have college qualifications and currently studying 1st year at University in Denmark but feel its not for us.
We have just got a couple of questions that would love help answering
- How can we go about moving/living/working in California/America?
- What do we have to go through or requirements that need to be met?
Any help/advice/information would be great!

Frankly though, a college education with no experience - unless you're in a highly specialized niche field - just isn't going to do it.

If you are still in University, there are several exchange programs you can come on to get a taste of things and that will give you opportunities at longer term immigration (green card).

We have been here in southern California since 1967 after living in upstate New York for three years, 1964-1967. We have been back to england many times on vacation, don't give up hope on getting here, it may be a harduous task but believe me, it's well worth the effort. Good luck.

Re: Wanting to move to California
Just some advice, first off give us as much information on what you want from here, example state what type of work you would like to do, what area in California you would like to live in etc. Finally, follow your dreams if California is where you want to live it is not beyond your dreams, there are plenty of people who are willing to help but you have to get your goals straight and articulate them well, just like sailing a boat, you need a clear direction on where and what you want to do.
The internet is your friend use her as best as you can she contains plenty of information.

Harduous indeed. After becoming US citizens, we sponsored my sisterin law and her husband for emigration, the process took eleven years before they finally received their permanent visa. Compare that to when we went through the process in 1964, took us three MONTHS !!

If you're married, enter the lottery. It's the best visa money can't buy. You've got a week or so to get your act together.
