waiting and waiting and waiting

I just want to say this waiting is killing me. Its so hard to see others get approved for their visa with no problems. Don't take me wrong for people getting approved, I am happy for them. Its just I wish it was us also jumping up and down for glory with visa in hand.

I totally feel for Mrs tricksland and sherly and others waiting endlessly, I know your pain you guys are enduring. We made it to the consulate and now we are under review for no reason why and I was told it wasn't for security checks. Its upsetting and painful to see others get cleared easily and we have to wait and also not even for sure if we will make it. We didn't lie about anything or even hiding nothing. So I don't know what is going on. So all I wanted to say is that I totally understand what everyone else is going through from being seperated from our spouses/fiances. Not to mention the holidays comming up. This in itself makes the wait even more painful.

Hi Amys
You have that right this is on of the hardest things that I have
had to do in my life... we arewaiting to get the 2nd NOA from
Nebraska and they seem to come up with excuse after excuse why we
dont have it yet.. our 1st MOA was 24th May we are on over 130 days
now.. and to know that even after the approval we have yet
anotherwait for the interview etc....

I do feel like this is some sort of sick test to see just how
strong the relationship is... and it is sure hard to stay positive,
and not to nag and moan to much at my fiance I knbow he is doing
all he can

Well I intend to pass this test.. and I will be wit him.. I just hope
its by Thanksgiving!! getting kinda close now...

Re: waiting and waiting and waiting

Undoubtedly this is the most difficult thing most of us have gone
through. Of course there are always worse things that can happen.
But still, it is very difficult. Last November my husband left for
Israel as my fiance. We planned to marry and have him back here last
spring. We never dreamed the K3 would take so long (NOAs 4/1 and
4/10).

The one and only wonderful thing I see in this is that passion and
dedication grow with the time and effort involved. It is clearly
tragic. Like any couple facing a tragedy it will do one of two things
- distance you or bring you closer. What a unique opportunity we are
getting...a chance to test our dedication to one another so early in
marriage. (I didn't say it was a good! At times the pain and longing
is unbearable). It does seem to ease a bit over time. I was worse off
last spring. I thought I would die if another week passed without
him. We still go into a bit of depression on Friday afternoons,
feeling defeated with the passing of another week without news. But
somehow we've learned to accept what is truly out of our control. I
just can't wait for the homecoming!

I just wonder...why a K-3 and not a K-1?

Ahhh. You sound like the INS. I wish we had petitioned for a K1
rather than marry and K3-it. We would have been together long ago.
The point, like most petitioners, is to be together as husband and
wife as quickly as possible. We thought this would be a faster route.
When we filed, the law firm we've used turned a K3 around within 30
days. We thought he'd be here by May...at latest! Well, no such
luck. What are we at now? 183 days and still no news....beautiful :(

Hi all,

I feel for all of you!

Something I did for my Fiance (now husband) was write in a journal for him every other day or so about how much I missed him. He loved it and still reads it all the time, I think it helped me deal with everthing also it was theraputic, so why not pick a pen up and start one for that someone you are missing. (every once in a while I sneak in something new too)

Good luck and best wishes to you all.

Ali

Re: waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting

I just send my hubby dirty greeting cards every other week. ;)

I've sent him a few care packages too of things he liked when he stayed with
me in Canada. Things like Ketchup and dill pickle chips, aero bars (though
he hates the bubbles), etc. The one thing he wishes could be shipped is
Tim Horton's ice caps. He was soooooo addicted to them. I'm going to miss
these things when I leave. It's a good thing I have sisters that'll send
them to me.

One thing he taught me to appreciate when he was here was biscuits and
gravy. Haven't made 'em since he left though but he sent me a package of
instant gravy. My first day in Kansas, we're going out for breakfast to get
some. Ok all you Southerners, stop snickering at me. hehe

Here I go rambling on again. Move on, nothing to read here. Just makes me
feel better to blab.

Re: waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting

Hi Deanna:

I'm eastern Canadian living in the western part of the U.S. Here are
2 things I really miss - HP sauce and Tim Hortons. A1 steak sauce
just doesn't cut it. Next year my parents are coming out for a visit
so I've put my order in for a couple of cases of HP sauce. I got
excited about finding my favourite Tetley tea here in one of the
grocery stores. I didn't think Tetley was sold in the U.S. Plans are
now in the works for building a Krispy Kreme doughnut store. Wonder
if that will be a good substitute for Hortons?

Now I'm babbling.

Margaret

Sheryl, I hate pour salt in your wound, but it seems you could have gone to Isreal and DCF'd with a timeframe of about 2 months. Maybe you still could.......Jerry

Re: waiting and tim horton's

hi margaret...
couldn't help but reply to your yearning for Tim's!
moved to upstate NY from northern ontario over 2 years ago (just about to have conditional status removed!!) and almost went into withdrawl for lack of iced caps in the summer!

watched the media hype when Krispy Kreme opened here!

a month ago...THREE tim horton's opened here on the same day!! first ones!

begged my husband to stop at the one near his work before coming home opening day to get me an ice cap and a can of coffee...

he pulled into the drive thru...asked for the caps and a pound of coffee....voice says......ummmmm......we have big cans of coffee and little cans of coffee....he says...which one is closest to a pound? voice says.....ummmmmmm......one is 375 grams...the other is 940 grams (or something)....he says....well, just give me the one that's closest to a pound....
voice says....ummmm......silence.......

anyway...he did finally get the smaller can after about 10 minutes!! and i just thought the whole thing was pretty funny...and bless his soul for going thru all that just for me!

Re: waiting and waiting and waiting

You guys will have to let me know any good places to get ice caps if you
find them! I'll sure miss them.

HP sauce! Never thought about that one. I was wondering about Montreal
Steak Spice. I might have to bring a supply with me.

There is a website where you can order Canadian goodies, I just can't seem
to remember what it is. I'll have to keep looking. I'll be one of their
best customers I'm sure.
