VP this time ... the "wee" face off

VP/Prospective VP Face Off:

Did the temperature reach Fahrenheit 911?

Or was it like Foreigner's Cold as Ice ?

It was certainly more heated during the foreign policy debate than the discussion on domestic issues.

Anyone read the article in Rolling Stone a couple of issues ago about the curse of Cheney? It said that, since the 70s, any incumbent president who's had Cheney on his staff has not been reelected.

I think Cheney had the edge on Edwards. It pains me to say it though.

Too many personal attacks and too little substance. I agree both did well, Cheney seems like such an odious person.

How could people even contemplate voting for Bush knowing what would happen if something happened to him and Cheney became president. Talk about things going from bad to worse. :(

same thing in the UK, for a long time if Blair had died a la John Smith then Prescott would now be PM.

I thought Cheney and Edwards both did very well (unlike in Bush vs Edwards where the incumbent looked like bumbling fool) - but I think Edwards had the edge...

Everytime Cheney fired back with a personal record attack after Edwards made a policy comment, Edwards ilustrated a damning aspect of Cheneys record, be it voting for allowing plastic guns, Haliburton shadiness or sortening sanctions against Iran

Edwards also got respect for how he handed the gay marriage issue in context of Cheneys daughter (especially as she was in the news for being called a hedonist)

On several occaasions Cheney, in response to a question either ignored the topic and blasthered off-topic or had no comment

Take the comments in context that from a personal perspective I stand to lose financially if Bush gets kicked out, but people like my wife's elderly sick grandmother who can't afford to heat their homes in order to pay medicare prescription costs will be better off with Democratic health reforms like allowing medicine from Canada
