Any idea who i should contact in the UK to register to be able to vote in the next general election?

They will send you a vote by post/vote by proxy form to fill out.
it's very simple.

Part of the form asks for a countersignature from a British person in the country which you reside.

The form I got was not very simple at all. It had to be signed by a UK citizen who holds a UK passport and is not living in the UK. It's stupid!
