Viva Blackpool

Golden Globe nominee being shown on BBC America Viva Blackpool

Noticed a couple of the League of Gentlemen cast in the clip shown on the Globes. Its a drama with a few musical numbers thrown in.
Went to the site (link above) and grabbed a synopsis:

Cocky and charismatic entrepreneur, Ripley Holden (David Morrissey, State of Play, Basic Instinct 2), is a smalltown Donald Trump wannabe. His life's dream is to transform the fading seaside town of Blackpool, England into his very own Las Vegas. With unfailing confidence, Ripley hopes to court Blackpool's elite into backing his ambitious plan to turn a small-time casino into a glittering Vegas-style extravaganza, no matter the cost.

Those dreams turn into a nightmare when a dead body turns up in his newly opened establishment, The Yankee Dollar, and Ripley becomes the prime suspect. Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Peter Carlisle (David Tennant, Dr. Who) takes an instant dislike to Ripley and becomes even more determined to nail him once he takes a shine to his lovely wife, Natalie (Sarah Parish, The Wedding Date, Trust, and Cutting In).

Elsewhere, Ripley's problems are compounded by his chaotic family life that spins increasingly out of control. Natalie, feeling totally unfulfilled in her life, not to mention in her marriage, succumbs to the charms of D.I. Carlisle, as her husband focuses on his money-making schemes. To add to the chaos, their teenage son Danny (Thomas Morrison) is in trouble with the police, and his daughter Shayanne (Georgia Taylor), whom he adores, begins a relationship with a much older man, who, it turns out, is someone from Ripley's past.

Struggling to keep his business dream alive, and his family and friendships intact, Ripley, like the true gambler he is, holds onto one hope - that the good times are just around the corner. Now if only they'd solve that pesky murder...
So anyone seen it ?
Any good ?
...and could somebody tape it for me ?

I'll watch out for it coming on again for you and see if I can work out how to transfer TiVo to tape.

The Derby was deleted from our TiVo before the final whistle had blown.

Hubby and I absolutely loved it. There were 6 episodes and I only have 5 of them taped - all but the first episode. If I ever take the time to figure out the new DVD burner that's hooked up to the telly, I'd be happy to send the episodes to you!

Most excellent - watch it if you can. The music was the best bit for me. That and the main police guy was in the latest Harry Potter movie (and the main protestor was too).
