Visiting US before moving on K1

Visiting US before moving on K1
Hi,
I received my K1 Visa two weeks ago and I would now like to go visit my fiance in California since I won't be moving there on the K1 until December. Does anyone know if I have to take anything special with me or do I need to know anything in particular about doing this? I was told at the interview to specify that I am not moving just visiting but that it is still up to the customs official. I don't want to get turned away at the border because I didn't have a form filled out or something silly. Any advice would be great. Thank you.
