Visa Approved Sept. 20, 2002
:) Which seems like forever, our visa application has been approved last sept. 20, 2002. After the interview, the consul officer told me that my visa and other documents will be delivered via courier within 7 to 10 days, is this true?
I would appreciate to hear from someone who knows how long does it take for the US Embassy to deliver the visa so that I can make my travel plans. Thanks, appreciate to hear from someone. |
Re: Visa Approved Sept. 20, 2002
Which consulate are you dealing with? When I was talking to the Santo
Domingo consulate they told me 5 business days but not to make travel plans for my wife for 2 weeks after the interview because sometimes it takes that long. The worring part about that is the postal service is not the greatest. They said they use a carrier. So when my time fianlly comes around I will see. Problem is that I need to go to te interview, so do I chance that we will in fact receive it, or go down and then come back for a month to give them the time and then return in a month to pick up the wife and daughter. Right now I think that month would be a very hard wait after having the interview. Jerry |

My fiancee got approved from Consulate Guangzhou in China on 20th of August. She didn't get the visa at the same day afternoon as before and she got the paper instead. The statement as followed, Due to changes in pre-interview clearance requirements, we were unable to issue you a visa until receving furhter notice from U.S. authorities. Once we receive notice, we will notify you by mail to return to this office to pick up your visa. I check the web-link and foud out it may take for six to eight weeks or more. http://www.usembass- y-china.org.cn/guangzhou/iv/kvisa.html If the visa is approved, processing requirements may delay the issuance of the visa for six to eight weeks or more. Then we will notify the applicant by mail to return to this consulate to pick up the visa. The visa will be normally valid for half a year. So far, it passed five weeks already and still no news, will see. |
