Default Virgin America

I just read (or rather Kate did) that Virgin have been given the go ahead to start a US domestic serice
AA shares have dropped dramaticaly
I think this will mean great losses for US airlines.

The Airline will be called 'Virgin America'

Virgin Airlines and Virgin America not exactly the same company, both are independent of one another, one is British the other is American.

Actually ..... It is all Brirish owned Virgin ..... Read the story !
US will be allowed to purchase shares.

It's just a part of the Virgin group ..... Richard Branson set it up, same as he has done a deal wit Boeing to develope 'green' jet sngines and ordered some 787's (probably for the domestic service)

They can only call it that so long as everyone embarks using the rear entrance!

"Under US law, to be licensed as a US airline, a company must prove it is 75 percent controlled by US citizens, among other strict requirements"

So 'technically' its a US company (had to get rid of CEO, major changes to the board, special appointee to keep check of the 25% 'foreign' controlled investors etc)

Good news for consumers but the US got the good end of the "open skies deal" that has been going on for years, the EU got the short end of the stick..but the EU agreed to it!

I don't get this post ? Why wouldn't it take off ?
Every venture the take on is a success ............ JEEEEEZ ! Almost every train in the UK is now Virgin and they make a profit. And Virgin Atlantic was the only transatlantic airline to make a profit last year (according to the BBC World service anyway)
