Not really. Have a friend going through this now with a cat with cancer and the bills are staggering.

I honestly really do not understand why people get worked up over what doctors and vets or anyone makes.

Doctors and vets are well compensated because of their skills and knowledge, its not like they went to school for a few months and presto they are doctors.

If the wages for doctors was poor, I'd venture you'd find a shortage of doctors.

I have already apologised for "trolling the thread" - but I do think Doctors/Vets should do the job because they want to help sick people/animals, not for the cash. I think their salary should be reasonable, I didn't say poor.

I agree... but "reasonable" by what standard? It's a rhetorical question!

I'm not sure that anyone would become a vet who didn't really want to help animals -- the dog bites, the cat scratches, the necessity to keep up on rabies shots, the sadness of having to tell an owner that nothing more can be done to help a beloved pet, the euthanasia of animals they've treated since they were babies. It is a hard job, physically and mentally, and I honestly can't see anyone choosing it as a profession for financial reasons.

I'm so tempted to say "because they are failed Doctors.........but I won't" ;-)

I think Dentists have it pretty good - good pay, reasonable hours and its not like you are cutting people's legs off...........

Surprisingly yes....If my family saw this thread they would probably take me to the vet to be put down. Much cheaper than human medical fees.
