I think it's a pretty useful service and we're going to develop it further. It isn't the cheapest way to make an International voice call, but it is a conveniant direct-dial, pay as you go service and registration is free. I'd love to use Skype all the time but the PC doesn't work in the car, I'm on a capped usage ISP service and VoIP chews up Mbytes of download and 'Skype In' is £23 per year and the UK caller still has to call a national number
One of the Google ads here wanted £130 per year for a UK number diverted Internationally
I genuinely believe this service is of benefit to British Expats, everyone is entitled to their opinion but they can't make their own mind up unless they are given the opportunity to review the service

Just glad it's upfront that it's an advertisement - don't know why it wasn't in the first place. Have no problem with general advertisement (like anyone cares what I think )

BE is offering it as a free service to members just like the blogs, forums and email etc. The actual service is handled by a third party company just as the email, forums and blogs are hosted by a third party company.
FireFly technical staff are kindly answering support questions here on the site to save people time and to assist in the initial rollout. They are not paying to promote their service.

Edit to add, Bob's post #16 of this thread.....clearly says they are paying for advertising.

The only advertising within threads and announcements etc, is internal BE promotions related to this site and it's services. Whenever we launch a new feature, there is an announcement.

lol - I wasn't concerned whether they were paid advertisment or not. I just read your post to Irn and thought "I've read somewhere that they were paying for advertisement."
Also, both my daughter and my MIL pay 3p a minute, so its not a savings for us. But, its nice that they can dial a UK number and reach us.
