could the hike in cost be related to all the other states that need the oil/gas?

Not much gas in Maine, but petrol has been going up at a bit of a rate to off set the rise in heating oil, which has been really high this year, practically sod all federal help for old folks that the state worked out a deal with Venezuela who gave the state $5M of Citgo's heating oil.

You time him in the bath, give him a bollocking for leaving a light on and you've even changed the crappers so he can't use too much water.

Bet I know what images he's wanking over.

We keep our system programmed as well. Our heating bill actually went down this past month - $111 from $136. My husband had reprogrammed the heating from 70 to 68. We're not in a 4000 sqft house - 2200.

What pisses me off is that in our house (and most oil heated houses around here it seems) is that there is no control over the temperature in individual rooms. Also, there is absolutely no control over the hot water apart from manually turning it up and down at the furnace. There is no timer control to stop the water heating throughout the night when nodbody is going to use it. Obviously this system was designed when oil was dirt cheap, well now it ain't!
