Using Sentri lanes without Global Entry card
I am a British citizen currently living in Mexico with permanent residency status in Mexico. I have a B2 visa for the US and was recently approved for the Global Entry program. I plan to use the Global Entry lines at US airports when flying to/from the UK but also plan to use the Sentri/Global Entry lane when driving from Mexico into the USA.
My understanding is that as a British Citizen (UK) i do not get issued a Global Entry card despite being a member of the program. I know the card is not required at airports but will i be able to drive in the Sentri/Global Entry lane when crossing the land border from Mexico into the US as i am a Global Entry member, but cannot be issued a card? Everything i've read on the CBP website indicates that to use the Sentri/Global Entry lane, one MUST have a macine-readable card.

I doubt it, because the SENTRI lanes are likely human-less and a card or some form of registered identifier (maybe license plate?) would be mandatory.

Re: Using Sentri lanes without Global Entry card
The Sentri lanes are always manned. One is asked to show the officer his/her Sentri or Global Entry card when using the lanes. My question can really relate to a citizen of any of the Global Entry-eligible countries that are not issued cards (UK, Argentina, Colombia, India, Germany, Panama, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland & Taiwan). Do any Global Entry members from those countries have personal experience of using the SENTRI lanes when entering the US from Mexico?

Have you registered your vehicle for use in the Sentri lanes. From the Customs/Border Website:
For Global Entry Members at NEXUS/SENTRI Lanes
How do I add NEXUS to my existing Global Entry membership?
Login to TTP. On the GOES home page under Program Membership(s), click on "Manage Membership." Then click on the "Add Trusted Traveler Program." Make any changes necessary. On the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Trusted Traveler Program List page, select the checkbox next to the NEXUS option. On the next page you will see the NEXUS logo. You will need to provide additional information and answer questions; (some of these questions are very similar). Once all the application information is entered/ corrected, certify your application and pay the fee. Applicants seeking to use NEXUS to enter Canada must complete an enrollment interview with the Canada Border Services Agency.
How do I register my vehicle before using the Global Entry card in SENTRI lanes?
Global Entry members who wish to drive their vehicle in the SENTRI lanes, must register their vehicle with CBP and schedule an appointment at a SENTRI enrollment center to conduct a 7-point vehicle inspection.
How do I register my vehicle before using the Global Entry card in NEXUS lanes?
There are no additional requirements for a member to use the NEXUS lanes coming into the U.S. However, Global Entry cards are not valid for entry into Canada via the NEXUS lanes and kiosks; travelers must apply separately for NEXUS.
What does it cost a Global Entry member to get the NEXUS or SENTRI benefit?
