Users in MA!
 

Hey!

I have been offered a job in Mansfield, MA with a salary of $90k. I know the cost of living is higher than where I am now and just wondered if this would be enough to live on. We are planning on renting for the first year or so and then see what transpires.

Specifically, I would be interested in schools, crime rate, places to live, places to avoid etc. We are currently living in the wilds of Ithaca, NY.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I've been zoning in to Natick and Newton, though Needham and Waltham have nice parts, I just can't be arsed to visit every place to see the gems from the dives....but if you find the other threads, you'll find plenty of recommendations...

Hello Sanj

I moved from Hampshire in 2003 to work in Mansfield. What company are you going to? I was with Tyco Healthcare.
We lived in N Attleboro for 1 1/2 yrs before moving to Princeton, NJ, and then back to the UK this year.
I can help you with any questions on areas etc as I know it pretty well. That salary is very good you should have no problems there living on that (I did)
