Useless bunch USPS, ..............
I mailed a letter at a Post office, 70 west 10th St 10011 (6th Avenue), paid $4.64 for light envelope (Certified & proof of delivery card). To be delivered to Broadway 19th St 10010. Walking distance .5 mile. Post office 4/24/06 am, delivered 4/26/06 pm.
PRICELESS. At 39c, they are useless, $4.64?

As it happens, ladies and gentlemen, as it happens, NI UK has outsourced NI Contributions to the UKraine ... as it happens. Not true, but if true might have been a flat zero on the logarithmic weird-o-meter ... to the extent that it does as it happens.

Re: Useless bunch USPS, ..............
I was once asked at the post office if the UK was the Ukraine. I always write "United Kingdom" now. A couple of times I've been asked if that is the same as Great Britain, but most of them seem to know. Seriously, don't get me started on USPS though. Every time I go in the Post Office I have to wait 10-20 minutes in line. It seems like nobody here knows how the postal service works and has a hundred questions when they get to the counter. I was stunned to see a thread on UK Yankee about how inefficient the UK Post Office is and how they wish they were dealing with USPS again. I guess everyone has different experiences but I for one will be glad to get back to dealing with the Royal Mail and UK Post Offices (which one can actually walk to).
Sorry... you got me started
