The government shuts them down, one opens some place else. While there are still homeless, there will be dodgy motels. But yes reviews online will help.

Do you REALLY think this is true?

The people who frequent dodgy motels are NOT likely to post TripAdvisor reviews, especially the ones that offer rooms by the hour or house the homeless!

I would go as far as to say that EVERY town has at least one dodgy motel.

(A good source for drugs, prostitution and a dozen other sleazy activities!)

Econolodge seem quite fair and cheap, you get a grotty so called 'Continental breakfast' which consists of coffee, juice of some sort, bagel or toast.
We now have 'Megabus' (a British import) which is quite reasonable and fast.
As for the 3 month Visa waiver ? ........ No you can't extend it.
