Don't know why Australia's on the list, none of us are allowed out of the country! (although you can apply for an exemption if you have a genuinely urgent need to travel)

Exactly!! I've even had people at work saying I can travel home now and just walk straight in. They are all Aussies yet seem unaware that we are effectively prisoners here for the forseeable future.

I can't really understand why anyone would want to grapple with the ever changing rules for travel and quarantine for two different countries, unless there was some incredibly compelling reason to need to travel. I can't even imagine what reason would meet that threashold, because I am absolutely certain that none of my friends and relatives would expect me to return even for a funeral and I wouldn't go back for one either, even if something happened to my mother. I guess the only thing I could think of would be if my mother was taken ill and not expected to survive, maybe.

One of my friends has been flying for business purposes - he is machinery service technician, so can't work from home, and he has reported that air travel is a complete mess, with the airlines mask rules being openly flouted, and SD on board being a joke.

No more than ten people are allowed to congregate for a funeral anyway, so relatives outside the parent/sibling range, as well as friends/colleagues, are unable to attend even if quarantine upon arrival from another country is not a factor.

That is fair. We lift their ban when they lift ours. Not in a couple of weeks as we will likely be banned some say until a vaccine is found and some even longer than that.

Besides if America had a decent leader who took this thing seriously they would probably ban their citizens from going overseas to control this thing a little bit better as Australia has done to my reading of what is posted below. But it hasn't got that leader so the situation will be bad in america for many months to come.

Right, like I said, "keeping track of the rules". I wouldn't buy an airline ticket to the far end of the state at the moment, never mind internationally, as I would have no confidence that when I got there, the rules hadn't changed since I booked the travel. .... For example if I had booked travel a couple of weeks ago to visit family in Leicester this weekend - by now my plans would be in tatters!
