Default USA = Sim City

Now thats its been 8 weeks since we left England behind for the bright lights of California, below is a run down of what I would term major events that have occurred to make me think "Is it like this all the time in the US?"

Sept 6th - Cruise from Harwich, England to Boston, USA diverted due to Hurricane Fabian (we had to miss our stop in Cork, Ireland). Several days of very rough weather in the North Atlantic.

Sept 18th - Caught in Hurricane Isabel while travelling around the East Coast. Cue many worried calls from my parents.

Sept 21st - Arrive in California to find the Terminator may be Governor soon...

Oct 8th - Arnie becomes Governor.

Oct 11th - Grocery workers in 3 major stores go on strike.... still running.

Oct 12th - Bus drivers go on strike.... still running.

Oct 24th - Wildfires start approx 5 miles from our house.... still burning.

Any suggestions as to what I can expect next? I feel like I'm living in the computer game Sim City.... I'm just waiting for the alien spaceship to attack.

Hehe, actually was there on 10th Oct to pick up a car. No sign of floods tho =) Am waiting for the mudslides here when it rains.

Oh, and you never know when a quake might hit.

Yeah, I've already sniffed out 4 local pubs and most of 'em sell proper Cadburys and tea so I'm very happy overall with my new home =)
