How are they going to find a "Jim Trott" ? There is only one Jim Trott, anyone who disagrees is in serious denial.

I've heard of him but don't know if I've ever seen him in anything.

Love this show.
They should absolutely not do a US version of this show, it just won't work.

The thing about UK TV and why it is so funny is the brits are not scared to take the P*** out of ourselves. I remeber talking to a friend from the states who did not find our comedy funny at all and she couldn't understand how we didn't get offended by shows like the royal family, and little britain.

All together now:

"Hold a chicken in the air, stick a deck-chair up your nose
Buy a Jumbo-Jet, and then bury all your clothes
Paint your left knee green, then extract your wisdom teeth
Form a string quartet, and pretend your name is Keith."

Yuck. She is SO annoying. She can't hold a candle to Dawn French, that's for sure.

This "remake" will be a disaster. But it won't be a disaster for the reasons most of us think it will be. It will be a disaster because too many people in this country will complain about a show portraying a female playing a, what? Minister? Preacher? Pastor? And if the remake is loyal to the original, then there will be an outcry when the female minister-or-whatever swoons over Johnny Depp and talks about her breasts, having sex, etc. It just won't fly. The alternative -- toning down the writing -- won't fly either, because it will just be BO-RING.

I think this might be one of those shows that I won't watch, ever, just out of principle. Not even a peek!
