Default US gets tough on illegal hiring

Lets see how much of an example they make of the executives that hired these illegals. Hopefully this is the start of a major crackdown.

Mmm lets consider this.... Republican's look weak on immigration, then a well publicised immigration raid on a German owned company....

I can guaranteee it won't happen to a US owned company.

Yeah good point. With half of the Board of Directors of major US corps being made up of senators it won't happen. Or if it does they'll get enough warning beforehand to clear them out.

I read a story a while back about INS raiding a meat-packing plant in Nebraska - about 75% of the staff were illegal. The owner took it up with a local senator and the whole thing was forgotten about

I venture to guess he probably got a bit more than that! They're all like pigs at the trough...

The Government gets what the Government wants. They want a mass of low paid workers coming across the southern border, if they didn't then they would actually do something about it.

Certainly it's no surprise that it's so very difficult for a highly-paid worker like me, on an H1-B visa, to get here in the first place, stay here and ever have a hope of getting a GC.

American jobs for Americans (so long as those jobs pay well and don't involve cleaning up other people's shit, or picking their food)

It was forgotten about because getting rid of all the illegals in Nebraska would be disastrous for the local economy. Fact.

They managed before without slave labour.

Story I read was that the political pressure was such that the ICE officer in charge was sacked.
