US Education

Hi all, we are hoping to move to Dallas the later part of this year and have three kids.

This Sept the oldest will be in year 11, my second in year 10 and the youngest in year 7, first year in secondary school. Where in the US education system would they be?

Thanx

What ages will each of them be, years/months, in September?

The youngest (depending on age in September) could be 6 or 7th grade. The two oldest (again depending on age) could be high school, possibly 9th grade on (although the middle may be 8th grade and still in junior high/middle school, depending on what the school district is calling that grade)

So it looks like possibly 5th or 6th grade for the youngest (going by age) Possibly 9th grade for middle child and 10th grade for oldest.

For the oldest ones, bring as much evidence as possible of work they have covered so that they can be credited for it on their US transcript. If the older ones are thinking of going to university, make sure they are doing the required classes in school.

Excellent point. When we came here, my 3 eldest were in advance of the locals of their age, with the result that they all graduated high school at 17.
