US 'deal' on illegal immigrants

Here, as a server you get *at least* the minimum (jobs often pay more) plus you make tips. Being a server isn't half bad work in this state.

Yeah, it's the law for this state. I've noticed that, especially in Southern states, server-type positions can be paid even less than the federal minimum wage because they earn tips.

This whole situation has pissed me off no end. After 9 years and literally thousands of dollars in lawyers fees, I would hte to really calculate it, but it is fast approaching $10k. 5 years waiting, unable to change jobs or get promoted due to green card lock in, always going by the book, to see millions of illegals suddenly get in.
Hey Mr president, how about saving your government tons of money and give everyone that has been waiting for a greencard for years one NOW!!
Legals first then sort out illegals.

And he has an "imputed wage" from the IRS does he not? Meaning the good old IRS imputes what a server's tips should be and assumes it as a minimum income!

Only a few years slower than now then.

This proposed Bill, if it gets through, will cause families to suffer, legal immigrants to suffer and the illegal immigrants will benefit.
In total we have spent, if we were to include everything from the moment we filed our original I-129F, at least FIVE TIMES what you have. With our son now in "Removal Proceedings" although he has done nothing wrong, broken no laws, entered totally legally, our costs haven't even started to accrue yet!!
President Bush, only last year, in a speech at the White House said "families pass along values and shape character" and "Our policies should aim to strengthen families, not undermine them". So, what does he do? He supports and encourages a Bill that does the complete opposite for US citizen families!

Re: US 'deal' on illegal immigrants
i am interested how the illegals are going to pay to be legal.. they are the minimal wage earners, and have very little money, and if 12 million all paid 5000 to become legal that is a hell of a lot of money!!
I dont think its going to change anything

Same way a dozo on median wage buys a stupid Hummer to match the 96" TV -- monthly payments!

Surprisingly, many of our friends who arrived the "z" way have large amounts of capital available IME. Certainly seen them having no problem stumping up the deposit for a house when told it's the only way to get the loan. And five or ten percent of a Phoenix property is considerably more than $5k.
